My patterns are going to Bendigo Sheep & Wool Show for sale as kits!
This is very exciting for me. I have been a great purchaser of craft for some time and now I get to be a supplier and inventor and purveyor too!
This is one of my kits! Isn't it fabulous? And every kit will be different because the mill ends that go into it are different every time.
Another really nice things is that it's entirely, I mean 99.9999% Australian, Victorian, Mornington Peninsula product. Everything local, low-enviro-impact. I can't say 100% because I can't say where the green and pink dye came from, might be Landscape Dyes which was over in Kinglake 80km away, or might be China.
But the rest is local!
The alpaca were bred & graze on paddocks less than 20km from me.
The mill is about 5km from me. They wash, card, and spin the fleeces into yarn.
I designed it here at my desk at home.
The photographs are taken on the peninsula.
I suppose the paper the pattern is printed on, and the bag it will all be in, are also of unknown and probably not local. But that also can't be helped.
So here, this is a taster, there will be more to come at Bendigo!
